On April 2-8, the annual Artdocfest/Asia will be held. This time the festival will come to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and the unique cultural platform 139 Documentary Center will be the partner of the festival.
The program will feature the main documentaries of recent years that participated in IDFF Artdocfest/Riga:

- “Manifesto” by Angie Vincito
- “Gravediggers" by Ivars Zviedris
- “Mariupol. Reconstruction" by Svetlana Lishchinska
Directors Vitaly Akimov, Vitaly Mansky, Marianna Kaat, Elyor Nemat and Ilgiz-Sherniyaz Tursunbek uulu will present their films in person and will have the opportunity to communicate with the audience.
At the same time, young documentarians will have a unique opportunity to communicate with experts and teachers of the Artdoc School. The program of master classes is as always rich and relevant:
- Technologies and new reality;
- Independent cinema from idea to premiere;
- Personal story in documentary films;
- Directing in documentary films;
- How the European financing system works;
- Conjuncture inside and boycotts outside;
- Documentary films for online platforms.
In 2023, the Artdocfest/Asia festival was held in Kazakhstan (Almaty) and Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek). In 2022, sessions of Artdocfest took place in Armenia (Yerevan), Uzbekistan (Tashkent) and Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek).
The international documentary film festival Artdocfest/Riga has been taking place in the Latvian capital for 4 years in a row. The festival migrated from Russia; it had previously been held in Moscow since 2007.
