Film submission guidelines

This form serves for IDFF ARTDOCFEST/RIGA programmes Artdocfest and Baltic Focus. While filling the application form, please, mark the programme you wish to submit the film to.

Films are to be submitted by their creators, regardless of production company proprietorship, or by individuals/authors if they hold all of the rights to the film. The completed form and a link to the film must be available to the Festival’s Board by January 15, 2022.

Film submission guidelines:

IDFF ARTDOCFEST/RIGA

‘Artdocfest’ – films from around the world. Selection preference is given to films whose makers are from the former USSR, or that have a subject matter dealing with processes in countries of the former Eastern Bloc. Films that have been publicly screened in Latvia and in Russia are not eligible for the ‘Artdocfest’ competition. Public screening denotes any and all showings of a film to a general public audience.

 ‘Baltic Focus’ – films made in Latvia, Lithuania or Estonia, or co-produced with any of these countries. The festival does not impose conditions on film length or onscreen languages.Films that have had any public screenings outside the territory of the Republic of Latvia are not accepted. Preference is given to films with the premiere status in Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania.

Out of competition programs. Out-of-competition programs accept films produced all over the world.

Films considered for selection must have completed production no earlier than September 2020.

Artdocfest Program: The completed form and a link to the film must be available to the Festival’s Board by December 15, 2021.

Baltic Focus Program: The completed form and a link to the film must be available to the Festival’s Board by January 15, 2022.

If one submitter is submitting several films, an online form must be filled out separately for each film.

The submitter should provide a link to an online screener. There must be only one film placed on the link specified in the application form. Films submitted otherwise will not be considered. If a link to Vimeo or YouTube has been provided, the option to download it must be available. If the specified link to the website does not work, or the submission application contains false/erroneous information, the Festival’s Board reserves the right to reject the submission.

A film can be submitted online on our website by filling in all marked (*) fields.

NB! Please read the technical requirements for submitting copies of films to be considered for programme inclusion.

The international version of the application form is still under development. Hopefully, you can submit your application using the existing form and deal with the multi-language version in the meantime.
