Artdocfest/Riga Announces the Thematic Programme REAL TALK

The festival Artdocfest/Riga regularly presents thematic programmes dedicated to issues of public relevance. For the second consecutive year, such a programme — this year titled “Real Talk” — will take place at the Media HUB venue “Power-UP Space”. Screenings are scheduled from March 2 to March 6.

“Real Talk” is this year’s out-of-competition programme of Artdocfest/Riga, encouraging audiences to explore and discuss complex, painful and controversial topics. For the second year in a row, screenings and discussions will be hosted at the festival’s home venue — the Media HUB centre “Power-UP Space”, located at 21 Merķeļa Street. Screenings will take place daily at 1:00 PM.

“During the festival, it is essential not only to watch films but also to discuss them. That is why we do everything possible to ensure that filmmakers can come to Riga to present their works. We understand that speaking in front of an audience of 300 or 600 people is not easy, so together with Media HUB we are once again organising an out-of-competition programme at the ‘Power-UP Space’ venue. This space creates an atmosphere for open and unhurried dialogue, and this year’s programme guarantees a truly powerful ‘Real Talk’ experience. Judge for yourselves: the queer community in Ukraine, male breastfeeding, irreconcilable conflicts between fathers and children against the backdrop of Russian aggression, and many other topics,” emphasises Artdocfest/Riga President Vitaly Mansky.

All films are screened in their original languages with translation into English and Latvian. Admission is free with prior registration via the Power-UP Space website: https://www.powerupspace.eu/artdocfest-riga#program
