A young Muscovite, born in a Russian Orthodox family, had a hard time with her parents' divorce as a child. In search of creating an ideal family, she converted to Islam and completely changed her way of life. For two years now, she has been calling herself Khadija, wearing a hijab and striving to live according to Shariah. Her parents turned away from her, she had to abandon the values and traditions that she had lived with since childhood. But having acquired a new incentive to become a righteous wife in Islam, Khadija marries a Muslim. A year later, her husband divorces Khadija, accusing her of disobedience to him. Khadija stands at a crossroads between the experienced realities of Islam and self-criticism towards her own righteousness.
