After the success of its first Parisian edition, which focus was against the war in Ukraine, Artdocfest, the renowned international documentary festival of films from Eastern Europe and Central Asia is once again making a stopover in the French capital. It will take place from November 25 to December 1, 2024, in two independant and arthouse cinemas : Saint-André des Arts and Luminor Hôtel de Ville.

On the program: eleven independent documentary films against authoritarian regimes and oppression. The daring political films that, in the eyes of enlightened filmmakers paint an unprecedented portrait of contemporary dictatorships. From screenings, each followed by a discussion with the directors, who are rarely present in France.

Newly associated, the Artdocfest Echo in Paris and the Visions d'exil festival, which this year takes on a complex theme, sadly familiar to oppressed artists - censorship - will present, during the month of November, two films from sub-Saharan African countries, and a Russian film. These screenings will serve as a launch pad for the week-long Artdocfest selection. Two round-table discussions on censorship will also be cojointly held. Artdocfest Echo in Paris and Visions d'Exil will close this month dedicated to censored artists with a special evening at the Atelier des Artistes en Exil.

In partnership with the Institut français, the associations Verba, L'Atelier des Artistes en Exil, Russie Libertés, and Little Big Story, Artdocfest Echo in Paris remains committed to highlighting the oppositional power of documentary cinema, and to introduce the artistic and narrative richness of the selection.
