La guerre du Haut-Karabakh de 2020 s'est terminée par un cessez-le-feu négocié par la Russie, obligeant l'Arménie à céder à l'Azerbaïdjan les territoires qu'elle contrôlait. En conséquence, des milliers d'Arméniens vivant dans ces régions ont été contraints de quitter leurs foyers. Quelques jours avant la date limite de transfert, un groupe de volontaires ont risqué leur vie pour entrer dans la région de Lachin afin de sauver de la destruction des inscriptions sacrées arméniennes gravées dans la pierre, appelées « khachkars ».

The brutal Nagorno-Karabakh War of 2020 ended in a Russian-mediated ceasefire forcing Armenia to cede territory it had controlled to Azerbaijan. As a result, thousands of Armenians living in these regions were forced to leave their homes. Days before the handover deadline, a group of volunteers risk their lives to enter the Lachin region to search for and save beautiful sacred ancient Armenian stone inscriptions known as “khachkars,” from destruction.
