Le métro de Moscou, qui porte le nom de Lénine, a fait revivre une tradition soviétique en formant une chorale composée de ses propres employés : caissiers, conducteurs de train et personnel de gare. Le chef de chœur découvre un opéra jamais joué auparavant, intitulé « Le Déluge », qui raconte l’histoire du dernier jour avant la fin du monde. Après une première couronnée de succès, la chorale entame sa première tournée et se retrouve impliquée dans les prémices d’une véritable apocalypse.
