Director Anna Shishova will present her film "The New Greatness Case" at the Artdocfest/Riga film festival. This is the story of a 17-year-old girl who was arrested on a political case. The author talks about political repressions in Russia, shows how the modern repressive system works in this country, because it is important for understanding what is happening inside Russian society. According to the director, this is a very scary and sad story, but it is also a story about love and courage, about the power of human support.
This movie has taken part in various important international film festivals and has won and been nominated for several prizes, including at Zurich Film Festival, Tel Aviv Human Rights Film Festival, Bergen International Film Festival, as well as IDFA, where the movie won the IDFA Forum Award.
The film participates in the competition program "Artdocfest Open" of the 3rd International Documentary Film Festival Artdocfest/Riga. Its Latvian premiere in Riga will take place at the Splendid Palace cinema. Tickets are available online and at the cinema box office.
