This could be where your film secures its first funding. But it’s about more than money.
We want to stand alongside independent documentary filmmakers, especially those whose projects receive no state support in countries with “fragile democracies”. We know how difficult it can be to make films freely and independently, and we are ready to help—not only through grants, but also by sharing our experience and taking an active interest in your films’ future.
We welcome projects from Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the South Caucasus.
The application deadline is 1 February 2027.
The final pitching session will take place in Riga on the opening day of IDFF Artdocfest / Riga in March 2027.
Up to 12 selected projects will have the opportunity to present their films to an international jury, immerse themselves in festival life, connect with fellow filmmakers and become part of the international documentary community.
The organisers will cover travel and accommodation for the finalists.
