For several centuries, the shtetl was a world of close neighborhood, where Jews and non-Jews lived side by side and depended on each other. Few people know that Jewish life in shtetls continued in the Soviet Union after the war, right up to the 1990s, until the whole shtetl “left” at once, as the locals say, to Israel and America. Together with the departure, the whole world disappeared, which will never be again. The film bit by bit restores this lost world, the last particles of which are scattered on both sides of the ocean.
