The author of the film, Marusya Syroechkovskaya, filmed her film "How to save a dead friend" for 12 years. This is her personal story and she really hopes that watching the film will help people suffering from depression to break the isolation in which they live, and for everyone else to understand how the first signs of self-destruction look like. The film won the Grand Prix of the Jury at the DOC NYC festival, the Grand Prix of the Amiens International Film Festival, the Special Jury Mention at the Visions du Réel International Festival, and successfully participated in many festivals around the world.
The film participates in the competition program "Artdocfest Open" of the 3rd International Documentary Film Festival Artdocfest/Riga. Its Latvian premiere in Riga will take place on March 5, 2023 at 18:00 at the Splendid Palace cinema. Tickets are available online and at the cinema box office.
